Offbeat Portrait No. 1: Rodolphe Perrier

Portrait décalé n°1 : Rodolphe Perrier

Grandson and son of a winegrower, Rodolphe Perrier settled in 1993. He cultivates 10 hectares in the commune of Saint Pierre d'Albigny. Vice-president and "Oeno-trouve-tout" of the Cellar, he always has tips for combining pleasure and work.

His adage

“Prune early, prune late, but above all, don’t be late!”

On a sled or skis, he challenges the hills of St Pierre d'Albigny

The size

It allows us to control the vigor and aging of the vine and to manage the number of bunches, and therefore the yield of the harvest. In Savoie, we mainly use Guyot pruning, leaving 1 long cane of about 6 buds and a spur of 2 buds.
